Privacy policy

Overview

Lazely ("we", "our", "the app") is a screen time management app designed to help you build healthier digital habits. Your privacy is fundamental to our mission. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Screen time data

Lazely uses Apple's Screen Time API (FamilyControls / DeviceActivity framework) to monitor and manage app usage. This data:

• Is processed entirely on your device
• Is never sent to our servers or any third party
• Uses opaque application tokens — we never see the actual bundle identifiers or names of your apps

Goals and preferences

Your goals, focus sessions, intervention settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This data is not transmitted off your device.

Subscription information

If you purchase a subscription, payment is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status. RevenueCat receives:

• An anonymous app user ID
• Purchase history and subscription status (product identifier, expiration, renewal status)
• Country and currency of purchase

We do not receive your name, email, payment method, or Apple ID. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy for details.

Analytics

Lazely uses Mixpanel to collect anonymous usage analytics that help us improve the app. Mixpanel receives:

• An anonymous, randomly generated user ID (not linked to your Apple ID or any personal identifier)
• A device identifier (IDFV — Identifier for Vendor, scoped to Lazely only)
• Approximate location (country and region) derived from IP address at the time of the request
• Aggregated usage events (e.g., feature usage, intervention outcomes) — without any personally identifiable information
• Basic device information (OS version, app version) for compatibility purposes

Mixpanel data is processed exclusively on EU servers (api-eu.mixpanel.com) in compliance with GDPR. Mixpanel does not receive your name, email, precise location, Screen Time data, goal content, or app names. Analytics are used solely to improve the app — never for advertising, tracking across apps, or sharing with data brokers. You can opt out of analytics at any time in the app's Settings. Notifications

If you grant notification permission, Lazely sends local notifications (e.g., weekly summaries, intervention reminders). These are generated on-device and do not involve any server communication.

Data sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer your personal data to third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. The third-party services that receive limited data are:

• RevenueCat — anonymous subscription management
• Mixpanel — anonymous usage analytics (can be disabled in Settings)

Data retention

All data is stored locally on your device. Deleting the app removes all local data. RevenueCat retains anonymous subscription records per their retention policy.

Children's privacy

Lazely is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable French and EU law, you have the following rights:

• Right of access — You may request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. Since most data is stored locally on your device, you already have direct access.
• Right to erasure — You can delete all local data by uninstalling the app or using the "Reset All Data" option in Settings. To request deletion of data held by our third-party processors (RevenueCat, Mixpanel), contact us and we will action your request within 30 days.
• Right to rectification — You can modify your goals, sessions, and preferences directly within the app at any time.
• Right to data portability — You may request an export of any data we process about you. Contact us to make this request.
• Right to object — You can opt out of analytics at any time in the app's Settings.
• Right to lodge a complaint — You have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertés), the French data protection authority, or any other competent EU supervisory authority.

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
